It appears that Selena Gomez has exercised a profound influence over her fiancé, Benny Blanco, particularly when it comes to shaping his musical preferences. During their joint stint on the latest episode of "Hot Ones," Blanco revealed how Gomez guided him to appreciate the melodies of her long-time friend, Taylor Swift.
"Honestly, before we embarked on our romantic journey, I was merely aware of Taylor Swift's music," Blanco shared, as Gomez discreetly wiped her mouth with a crimson napkin. "But it wasn't until I was with Selena that I truly became a 'Swiftie.' Now, I find myself saying things like, 'Play that track. How does that one go again?' We're often in the car, and I marvel, 'Wow, I'm belting out Taylor Swift songs from a decade ago, and I feel liberated.'"
"They are indeed timeless," Gomez concurringly nodded.
In the same episode, Blanco and Gomez poured their hearts out about collaborating on their joint album, "I Said I Love You First," set to debut on Friday, March 21st. "I felt a unique connection where I could confide in him about my insecurities, something I wouldn't easily do with any other producer, much less a romantic partner," Gomez confessed.
"When working with others, conflicts can arise," Blanco added. "But whenever we had differing opinions, the other would calmly say, 'Oh, alright, that's cool.' Moreover, we had the luxury of crafting [the album] in the comfort of our home, in our very bedroom. It felt incredibly laid-back."
However, the duo didn't see eye to eye on one matter: whether couples should take on the fiery "Hot Ones" challenge together. "I don't think I could have survived without her by my side," Blanco admitted. "You did crumble," Gomez countered with a playful tone. "Couples, steer clear of this game!"
