Beyoncé Narrowly Avoids Falling From Flying Car Due to Prop Malfunction

Beyoncé's tears, if any, were far from crocodile's—despite a recent harrowing mishap that unfolded on stage. On June 28th, during the opening night of her two-show Cowboy Carter stint at Houston's NRG Stadium, the "Texas Hold 'Em" crooner found herself entangled in a terrifying ordeal. It seemed as though she was trapped inside a car suspended precariously above the exuberant crowd, which began to tilt mid-air. A TikTok video shared on the same day captured the 44-year-old abruptly halting her rendition of "16 Carriages," instead uttering an urgent, "Stop, stop, stop" into the microphone.

With the music ceasing, the Grammy Award-winner hung suspended in the air, her smile beaming down at the audience that erupted into roars of encouragement. Moments later, she composedly declared, "Thank y’all for your patience," just before the car descended safely into the stadium's heart. Upon her return to the stage, she reassuringly stated, "If ever I fall, I know y’all would catch me."

This wasn't the first time Beyoncé, mother to 13-year-old Blue Ivy and 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir with husband Jay Z, encountered stage malfunctions during the Cowboy Carter tour. During a performance at California's SoFi Stadium last month, captured in a TikTok video, the "Crazy in Love" chanteuse was seen searching for her mark right before transitioning into her "Cozy" segment, which featured her encompassed by rotating gold frames on stage. However, as she awaited the robotic arms to position the frames around her torso, she glanced down in disbelief, realizing her mark was missing. Despite her evident confusion as the show progressed, she adeptly completed her routine, narrowly escaping being struck by the robotic props.

One viewer commented under the video, "She kept looking at the floor in disbelief," while another noted, "It’s a significant safety hazard. Kudos to her for still hitting her mark." On another occasion, Blue Ivy averted a potentially catastrophic scene on stage by unhooking an earring that almost got tangled in her mother's hair mid-performance.

However, during a subsequent performance of "I'm That Girl" in London on June 5th, Beyoncé had no teenage guardian angel to prevent her golden chaps from slipping off as she stomped in sync with her dancers. Nonetheless, she swiftly pulled her outfit back into place without missing a single beat, belting out, "Deadass," with unwavering confidence.
