Olympo – Season 1 Episode 1 1

While Zoe remains somewhat reserved about the offer, Yaiza is thrilled at the prospect. To commemorate their impending journey, Zoe lights up a blunt, promising it will be their last indulgence before the grind begins. Suddenly, the scene shifts to a harrowing accident, with Zoe screaming Yaiza's name in distress.

Flash forward, Zoe's parents are driving her to the HPC, despite her pleading not to be left there. They insist that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity she cannot afford to miss. As Zoe stands alone, feeling lost and overwhelmed, she meets Nuria, a friendly face who offers to guide her through the facility. Zoe expresses concern about whether she'll get adequate training, given the abundance of good-looking and talented athletes around.

Upon closer inspection, the HPC reveals itself as a dream training ground for aspiring athletes, equipped with top-tier resources designed to groom star performers. During Nuria's tour, Zoe meets Amaia, her best friend and the star of the artistic swimming team. The warm welcome extended to Nuria, who had been away treating a shoulder injury, underscores the camaraderie among the athletes.

The tour introduces us to Christian, Amaia's boyfriend, who harbors ambitions of living up to his brother's legacy as a former Olympo star. Roque, their gay friend, rounds out the close-knit circle. Tension simmers between Jennifer and Zoe, with Jennifer seemingly bringing up Zoe's record-breaking feats to needle her.

Just as they dive into conversation, the athletes rush to the windows, excited by the arrival of Olympo representatives. These VIPs are there to sponsor a select few athletes, with only three spots up for grabs. Everyone assumes Amaia will be a shoe-in for the honor. Isabel, the director, welcomes the Olympo delegation, while hints of a prior connection between one of the Olympo members and Nuria flicker subtly in the background.

As the Olympo community begins to settle in, Christian and Amaia sneak away to share an intimate moment, their passions entangling just as Amaia's mother's persistent calls interrupt the tender scene. Despite her best efforts to ignore it, the relentless ringing finally persuades her to answer. Her mother, a former athlete whose dreams were dashed, urges Amaia to sever ties with Nuria, labeling her as a weight around Amaia's neck and accusing her of hindering her progress. Amaia attempts to vouch for Nuria, but her mother counters with claims of Nuria's recent vacation, effectively dampening the romantic atmosphere. Just then, Nuria enters, catching them in the act.

Amaia confronts Nuria about her mysterious week-long absence, yet Nuria remains tight-lipped, prompting Amaia to insist she attends physiotherapy. Amaia's refusal to partner with Nuria in the face of the federation makes her appear foolish. Later, when the coach notices Nuria's absence, he dispatches someone to fetch her, tasking Fatima to rehearse the duet with Amaia in the meantime.

Elsewhere, Zoe grapples with adjusting to her new surroundings and fumbles during training. Her coach pairs her with Renata, who snubs her completely, refusing even to acknowledge her presence.

On the football field, Roque warms up alongside Charlie, whose homophobia casts a shadow over the atmosphere. Christian narrowly avoids injury but receives devastating news from Coach Javier: he's been cut from the program due to his perceived lack of physique and strength. This humiliating scene unfolds before the eyes of the Olympo federation team. Isabel catches Nuria embracing Hugo, a member of the Olympo team, and Nuria hints that Amaia might suspect something, prompting Hugo to wonder if it's time to come clean about their relationship.

Hugo later approaches Zoe after she stumbles during a high jump. Shortly thereafter, everyone learns that Zoe has been chosen as the first sponsorship pick, leaving Amaia to feign indifference before retreating to her room. Christian arrives to share his own disappointment about being cut, but their conversation quickly turns intimate, culminating in a passionate encounter that causes Amaia to be late for training. Regrettably, Christian is unable to inform her of his impending departure.

Returning to training, Amaia is warned by her coach that Nuria failed to attend physio. The coach threatens to exclude her from the team if she doesn't step up her game. They proceed with practice, pairing Amaia with Peque for the duet. However, Peque's breathlessness frustrates Amaia, who loses her patience and storms off, shortly followed by Peque.

While attempting to console Peque, a bottle of drugs topples and rolls towards Amaia's feet, revealing Peque's doping secret. Confronted, Peque pleads with Amaia not to tell the coach. Against her conscience, Amaia keeps Peque's secret and they return to training, the weight of their unspoken truth hanging heavy between them.

On the far side of the center, Roque engages in a clandestine encounter with a man, subsequently capturing a post-coital selfie. With a mischievous glint in her eye, she proposes sharing it on social media, but her companion swiftly refuses and exits the scene. Roque, unable to contain her frustration, unloads on Christian, who, with a sly grin, seizes her phone and posts the picture without her consent. The conversation then shifts to Christian's quandary—his hesitancy to broach the subject of leaving the center with Amaia. Determined to seek her out after training, he departs the following day with high hopes.

At the gym, Zoe struggles to maintain her focus on exercise while Renata ignores her pointedly.Sebas and Charlie corner her, their frustration evident as they vent about her scholarship win. Enter Nuria, who comes to Zoe's defense, cautioning her to be wary of the envious individuals within the center. Zoe, bewildered by the intense competition and the overall atmosphere, expresses her disillusionment with the place. In a heartfelt moment, Nuria shares how Amaia was instrumental in her growth when she first arrived, urging Zoe to find her own support system within the center.

This revelation stirs something deep within Zoe, prompting her to hastily pack her belongings and announce her departure to Renata. However, her exit is short-lived as Hugo intercepts her, bringing up the pending court battle stemming from a past accident. He insists that Zoe's destiny lies in the Olympics and that Olympo is eager to support her journey. Pressuring her, he urges her to sign a sponsorship contract without allowing her time to peruse it, reassuring her that all will be well.

Back at the center, Fatima engages Nuria in a conversation about the ongoing duet rehearsals, revealing that Amaia is auditioning everyone except Nuria for the partnership. Zoe returns just in time to witness Nuria diving into the water, daring Amaia to put her skills to the test. Yet, Amaia is far from pleased when Nuria dismounts abruptly. As punishment, she orders Nuria to perform ten additional flying leg spins.

Underestimating Nuria's resolve, Amaia is proven wrong as she accepts the challenge and executes the spins with flying colors—only to collapse unconscious, her body beginning to plummet towards the pool's floor. Without hesitation, Amaia and Zoe plunge into the water, their shared determination to save Nuria evident in every stroke.
