Bhad Bhabie, whose real name is Danielle Bregoli, is candidly sharing her health journey. More than a year after her public announcement of her cancer diagnosis, she has revealed that her health is in decline. On February 28th, she wrote on X, "Bad news from my doctor yesterday, 'god has the last say so not my cancer.'" This candid update comes after she shared her diagnosis in November 2024, amidst online criticism about her appearance.
"I'm sorry my cancer medicine made me lose weight," she wrote on Instagram Stories at the time. "I'm slowly gaining it back. So, stop running with the worst narratives." Despite the online backlash, Danielle's mother, Barbara Bregoli, has been fiercely defending her daughter against trolls who have suggested that her cancer diagnosis is "karma."
"Let me say this, social media has become an app where people think they can come on here and say the most vile things," Barbara said in a March 1st Instagram video. "And think it's funny because they're hiding behind a screen." She added that it's "a low form" to blame someone's cancer on karma and warned online bullies to refrain from speaking ill about situations they've never experienced.
"So, don't come on here with your balls so mighty saying, 'Oh, yeah that's your karma,' because it just might be yours," she said. "Don't ever say something about someone unless you've experienced it."
Barbara has also clapped back at critics who claimed Danielle was faking her illness. "How dare you you?" she said in a 2024 Instagram video addressing one of Bhad Bhabie's critics. "I pray to God that one of your children never gets cancer. I've had it twice. How dare you say my daughter's faking this, you vile piece of no good s--t."
On Instagram Stories, she added of the allegations against her daughter, "My god these comments are beyond disgusting—but like I always say, GOD DONT LIKE UGLY!!" She continued, "Stop with the assumptions!!!"
It's clear that Bhad Bhabie and her family are not backing down in the face of online criticism and are determined to share their journey with cancer openly and honestly.
