Blackpink's Lisa to play lead role in new 'Extraction' movie

K-pop superstar Lisa from Blackpink is gearing up to take center stage in the upcoming film Extraction's latest installment, alongside actors Don Lee and Lee Jin-uk. According to Variety, the 28-year-old K-pop icon has officially joined the cast of Netflix's forthcoming film titled Tygo, an expansion of the Extraction franchise.

The film's synopsis teases, "Tygo (played by Don Lee), a former child soldier turned mercenary, embarks on a revenge mission through Korea's criminal underworld after an operation goes awry."

Expressing her excitement for the action thriller, Lisa shared with the outlet, "I am so honored to be a part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors." She further added, "Being in an action movie has always been a dream of mine, so for my film debut to be such an exciting project feels very special."

Don Lee, too, spoke about the new film, saying, "I am thrilled that this project, which I've been developing for years with AGBO, is finally moving into production." He concluded by saying, "Tygo brings a distinctly Korean identity into the global Extraction universe. We can't wait to unleash its explosive energy on audiences worldwide."

However, the release date of the new action thriller film has not yet been announced, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the arrival of this highly anticipated project.
