The young bodybuilder, Jodi Vance, has passed away following a devastating heart attack, according to her grief-stricken family. At just 20 years old, her life was tragically cut short. A heartfelt message posted on Vance's Instagram account by her family conveyed, "On behalf of Jodi's family and cherished ones, we share with a heavy heart that Jodi left us yesterday afternoon. Her heart ceased functioning due to the severe complications stemming from dehydration."
"Despite the hospital's valiant efforts, they could not restore her vital signs," the family's statement continued, remembering the vibrant 20-year-old as a "radiant soul, beautiful both inside and out," whose absence would be deeply felt each day. The family described Vance's death as "abrupt and unforeseen," requesting "time and space to mourn this immense loss in tranquility." They concluded their message with a poignant reminder: "If there's one thing to take away from this, let it be to prioritize your health above all else."
Vance's trainer, Justin Mihaly, offered further insights in a video post on Instagram, sharing details with the consent of her mother, Jenny. Mihaly emphasized that Vance had "committed a grave mistake that should not be trivialized," suspecting that she had consumed "perilous" substances that led to her dehydration.
"If blaming me provides you solace in honoring Jodi's memory, then so be it," Mihaly said, vowing to advocate and take action on this issue in the future. He revealed, "Jodi used two exceedingly dangerous substances to enhance her physique, all without my knowledge or consent."
Mihaly expressed concern about Vance's recent health, stating, "Many who adored Jodi tried to persuade her to ease up a bit, but her unwavering work ethic was unparalleled. It was incredibly challenging to get her to slow down." He noted that hospital vitals indicated she had ingested a substance he had warned her about. "We now know it was in use," Mihaly disclosed.
Remembering Vance fondly, Mihaly said she was "incredibly beloved" and praised her for her warmth and "sharp intellect."
