At Sunday's 2025 Oscars ceremony, Harvey Weinstein's reaction was prompted by Adrien Brody's heartfelt mention of the children Weinstein shares with his ex-wife during his best actor acceptance speech. As Brody stood on stage to accept his accolade, the talented actor took a momentous pause to express his gratitude towards his partner, Georgina Chapman, whom he reportedly began dating in 2019. He also acknowledged the two children, Dash and India, that Chapman shares with Weinstein, amidst their tumultuous past marked by sexual allegations leading to their divorce in 2021.

"I dedicate this honor to my extraordinary partner, Georgina, who has rejuvenated not just my self-esteem but also my sense of worth and values," Brody emotionally declared. "And to her wonderful children, Dash and India, I understand the journey has been a wild ride, but thank you for welcoming me into your lives. Popsy is coming home a champion!"

Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence following his conviction for third-degree rape and a criminal sex act in 2020, issued a response through his representative to Brody's mention. "Harvey is overjoyed for Georgina and is deeply thankful that his children are being showered with the love and care they rightfully deserve," the representative conveyed in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.

Weinstein awaits a retrial for his 2020 rape conviction, which was overturned in April and will now incorporate an additional charge of sexual assault in New York. While the trial is scheduled for April 15, on January 29, Weinstein pleaded in court for an advancement of the trial date, citing his precarious health conditions. "I implore your honor to expedite the trial," Weinstein beseeched. "I am barely holding on. I endure because I seek justice for myself."

Over the past few months, Weinstein has been diagnosed with leukemia, amongst other health issues, leading to multiple hospitalizations. Following their divorce, Chapman was granted primary custody of their children. She and Brody made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021.

On Sunday evening, Brody clinched his second Oscar for his role in The Brutalist, two decades after he won for his portrayal in the Holocaust drama The Pianist in 2003, making him the youngest best actor Oscar winner ever at the age of 29. According to Guinness World Records, Brody's acceptance speech has now etched its mark as the longest in Oscars history, as he disregarded the 45-second timer and spoke for an astounding five minutes and 40 seconds.
