The forthcoming  Superman promises to deviate significantly from recent cinematic depictions of the Man of Steel. Yet, it might also echo the timeless essence of the classic  Superman that captivated audiences of yesteryears—a sentiment that De Luca cherishes deeply.

In an interview with Mike Fleming Jr. of  Deadline, De Luca effused praise for  Superman, asserting that Gunn had "nailed it" and likening it to "the Superman I grew up with." He bestowed upon it the esteemed title of a "five-star movie," a comment that raised numerous eyebrows.

"I adore Superman. James Gunn has truly outdone himself. It's imbued with his signature heart, humor, and mind-blowing action sequences," De Luca enthused to  Deadline. "It's the Superman of my youth, and it fills me with emotion whenever I watch it."

"It's nothing short of epic, visually mesmerizing, and deeply moving. The performances shine brightly. To me, it's a five-star film, and I can hardly contain my excitement for the world to witness it. Absolutely, we're thrilled about this Superman; James has absolutely killed it," he added.

De Luca's words leap off the page, with his comment about this film mirroring the  Superman he "grew up with" particularly intriguing. Numerous vintage  Superman movies, such as the 1978 classic starring Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, garnered raving reviews.

Whether fans will share De Luca's sentiment towards this  Superman adaptation remains to be seen. However, if it strikes a chord even remotely akin to the originals, the film featuring David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, could very well create a buzz at the box office.
