Brad Pitt has finally spoken out about the conclusion of his divorce from Angelina Jolie, after an arduous legal battle spanning more than eight years. In an exclusive interview with GQ, Pitt offered a succinct comment on the divorce settlement reached in December 2024, almost a decade after Jolie initially initiated the separation proceedings.

When asked if there was anything significantly different now that he had navigated through the divorce, Pitt responded matter-of-factly, "No, I don't think it was that major of a thing. It was just something that was legally coming to fruition."

The saga began in September 2016 when Jolie filed for divorce shortly after a private jet incident where she accused Pitt of abusive behavior towards her and their six children. Despite thorough investigations by the FBI and child services, no charges were filed, yet the divorce proceedings dragged on for years.

While the couple was legally declared single in 2019, a comprehensive settlement regarding marital and property rights was not finalized until December 2024. A confidant close to Pitt revealed to People in March that he was "happy to have the divorce behind him" and was now focusing on his relationship with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon. Meanwhile, Jolie's lawyer, James Simon, acknowledged at the time that the actress was "relieved" to have reached a settlement but emphasized that it was merely one aspect of a lengthy and grueling legal journey.

During the GQ interview published on Wednesday, Pitt also pondered on how his personal life has consistently dominated headlines. "Bro, it's been in the news for 30 years," he remarked. "Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way."

He continued, "My life is pretty contained. It feels warm and secure among my friends, loved ones, family, and my self-awareness. It's like a fly buzzing around, slightly annoying but ultimately insignificant."

Throughout the years, both Pitt and Jolie have remained remarkably tight-lipped about their divorce, leaving much to the imagination of the public.
