The climactic chapter unfolds as Senior Constable Zilficar "Zil" Ahmed (Akshay Khanna)'s comrades in the force are notified of their summons as witnesses in Dalia Tun's (Zoe Boe) lawsuit against the precinct. It is Constable Rory Hooper (Aidan Gillett) who dishes out this bombshell to the team, adding yet another layer of complexity to their burgeoning list of woes, already weighed down by the unsuccessful phone warrants.

Critical Incident – Season 1 Episode 6 1

Fortunately for them, Inspector Ivy Tsuma (Zindzi Okenyo) steps in with words of solace, cautioning them against discussing the Ahmed saga or venturing near Dalia. As the day progresses, Ahmed arrives at the station accompanied by Kane Kerr (Sean Hall), where he inks a deal that demotes him to Constable status and halts his paycheck till the judicial storm clears.

Following her altercation with Ty Egan (Hunter Page-Lochard), Dalia appears far from her best. Despite Yvonne Kaczmarek's (Emily Martino) urging to seek assistance, Dalia clings to a pretext to explain her state. Yvonne offers her Kasim Ahmed's (Akkshey Caplash) number, emphasizing that there are people ready to lend a hand. When Ty subsequently visits her at the communal home, their exchange hints at her desire to revert to dealing, with him seemingly receptive to the idea.

Hayden Broadis's (Jai Waetford) plight isn't much rosier, but his fortunes plummet drastically when Detective Graham McKeown (Richard Sydenham) and Senior Constable Sandra Ali (Roxie Mohebbi) descend upon him unexpectedly. They practically dangle carrots of leniency before him to betray his suppliers, but he's indifferent to any deal-making at present.

Ahmed, too, receives an unlooked-for visitor when Dalia arrives to return the house key. Their discourse is marked by dignity and mutual gain. She urges him to transfer departments, while he fills her in on tailing Hayden to the bakery on Kingsley Avenue, painting a vivid picture of their intertwined destinies.

Yvonne's bond with Dalia starts to fray when she uncovers Dalia's intentions to persist in selling for Ty. A chance encounter with Hayden at the bakery ignites a spark in Ali, inspiring her to delve deeper into the business's intricacies. This journey not only uncovers the fact that the venture is registered under Ruby Samuels's (Maia Thomas) name but also reveals, through police records, that Senior Constable Greg Hall (Jackson Heywood) has had prior documented encounters with Ruby.

Hall assures Ali that he will delve further into Ruby's affairs, while Ty informs Hayden and Dalia that they are temporarily halting the bakery's drug operations. Dalia is displeased with this news, despite Ty's reassurance that her issues aren't solely responsible for this decision. Hall briefly visits Ruby but is hastily compelled to leave due to Theo Leon's (Richard Brancatisano) unexpected arrival. Ironically, this fortuitous twist provides Hall with Theo's license plate number. Although the initial search yields no red flags, Hall receives a call from the State Crime Division subsequent to his inquiry. After discussing this with Sandra, they discover that Theo is married into the notorious crime family, El Maza.

Ahmed faces a harrowing experience when attempting to utilize departmental resources to secure mental health support. Similarly, Dalia encounters a distressing situation upon returning to the group home to find that Christian (CJ Bloomfield) has unilaterally arranged for her relocation. The details of her new destination remain murky, but it promises a fresh start with a new school and friends. Though far from pleased, she offers little resistance at present.

When Tsuma shares the task force's findings about the crime family with Superintendent Trevor Latt (Erik Thomson) and Detective Sergeant Edith Barcelos (Simone Kessell), it emerges that they have vastly differing perspectives on the course of action. Tsuma and Trevor are eager for the accolades, while Edith believes it's prudent to promptly inform the state authorities. Although they ostensibly agree to keep a close watch on the bakery in hopes of uncovering more, Trevor evidently mistrusts Edith's discretion. Ultimately, he instructs Tsuma to commence preparations for a raid.

Ahmed pays an unexpected visit to Zahra Khan (portrayed by Rina Mousavi) and Rezana Ahmed (Esmee Blocking) at the park, harboring hopes of mending fences with Kasim. Rezana's face lights up at the sight of him, but Zahra's demeanor remains stone-cold, making her disinterest in rekindling their acquaintance abundantly clear. Meanwhile, Dalia's fury towards Hayden knows no bounds, especially when he mentions encountering Ali at the bakery. She labels him a snitch, sparking a heated argument that eventually convinces her to flee town. They plot their escape on the evening bus, and in a moment of vulnerability, Dalia unburdens herself to Ty. In haste, Ty seals the bakery, starts packing his stash of drugs and cash, and dials Theo for a quick consultation. Their concise exchange hints at Ty's intention to offload the entire inventory in one fell swoop, while ensuring Hayden stays quiet. As part of his strategy, Ty entrusts Dalia with two bags for safekeeping—a decision that proves catastrophic. Dalia betrays his trust by urging Hayden to flee without her and contacting Kasmin to broker a meeting with Ahmed the next day at Wild Waters car park. Ahmed tries to persuade Kasim to accompany him, but Kasim declines, stating he isn't ready.

The following day, Ty arms Dalia with a gun just before they head out for the deal. Simultaneously, the police gear up for a raid, as Ahmed arrives at the designated car park. It swiftly transpires that Dalia has duped Ahmed into walking into a trap. He snaps pictures of the unfolding scenario and dishes them to Sandra via text, though their subsequent call is marred by a poor connection. With the deal sealed, Ahmed is compelled to intervene, preventing Ty from making a clean getaway. Noticing the lack of reinforcement, Ty brandishes his weapon and commands Dalia to climb into the trunk of the car.

Dalia pretends to cooperate but ultimately ambushes Ty from an unguarded rear. Ahmed's intervention is met with the accidental discharge of a firearm, hinting at a potential grievous head injury sustained by him. Despite the fuzzy communication, Sandra catches wind of the gunshot and swiftly deploys the team towards the parking lot. Meanwhile, Dalia seizes Ty's weapon, momentarily keeping him at a distance with it. However, her hold over him proves fleeting, and she flees on foot. Ty briefly gives chase in his car but halts his pursuit when Dalia veers into the dense woods.

It isn't until later, when Sandra and Trevor convey the heart-wrenching news of Ahmed's demise to Kasim, that they come to know of the crucial meeting. Upon relaying this information to Blacktown Station, the authorities swiftly mobilize for an expansive manhunt. During the rushed planning session, it transpires that the buyer has been apprehended, whereas Ty and Theo have slipped through the cracks. Theo manages to slip away on a routine flight, unawares of the impending raid due to Trevor and Tsuma's discretion. Meanwhile, Yvonne catches wind of the events through television broadcasts, only to be surprised by Dalia's unannounced visit at her doorstep. After a brief exchange of apologies and heated discussions, Dalia decides to surrender herself, with Shanika lending her a helping hand.

The climax unfolds with Dalia being questioned by Edith and Tsuma. She reveals what little she knows about Ty, Theo, and their clandestine operations. Furthermore, she speculates about the possibility of undercover agents hiding among their own ranks, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding saga.
