Brad Pitt's journey to Hollywood stardom was far from a breeze. Despite his current status as a two-time Oscar winner and a household name, he initially had to carve his niche through smaller, independent films, one of which left him with an unforgettable, albeit unsavory, memory.
During the July 2nd episode of the 'New Heights' podcast hosted by Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, Brad recounted, "We were filming in this minuscule café, packed with the entire crew—around 60 people sardined inside. It was sweltering. The air was thick, and my character hadn't eaten for days. Then, he was served a massive plate of beans and bacon."
The 61-year-old actor explained how he chose to immerse himself fully into the character, adopting a method-acting approach for the scene. "I thought, 'Yeah, I'm going to nail this,'" he continued. "I devoured that plate of beans with gusto. Take two, same thing. Take three, ditto. Take four, more of the same."
But then, out of nowhere, Brad remembered, "Something hit me like a ton of bricks." He shared, "I was trapped in that chair, helpless as nature took its inevitable course. Then, nothing happened. I thought, 'Oh, great. I got away with it.'"
However, his brief moment of relief was short-lived. "Suddenly, an overwhelming stench engulfed the entire crew in the room," he recounted. "They all fled the café in a hurry."
Having learned his lesson from that bean-induced surprise, Brad said, "Ever since then, I've learned to pace myself."
While Brad can now laugh about the incident, it wasn't the only humbling experience from the early days of his career. In fact, after making his debut as a speaking character in a 1987 episode of the soap opera 'Another World,' he faced another embarrassing moment.
"My picture was featured in USA Today, and it was a big deal for me," he told Travis and Jason. "I sent it to my mom and dad, proudly exclaiming, 'Look, Ma, I made it!'" He continued, "I was with a friend who was really attracted to a girl who lived with a couple of other girls. We visited their apartment, passing through the kitchen to the back door. As I glanced down at the litter box, I saw my picture covered in a giant cat turd."
