Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been embroiled in a protracted legal battle over their $35 million winery, a joint venture during their marriage, with no end in sight. The 61-year-old actor has taken fresh legal action against his ex-wife, submitting an email he allegedly received from Jolie's attorneys in 2023. The email reads, "The burdensome nature of any production is a result of Mr. Pitt's own making—he is suing Ms. Jolie for $35 million in damages. As a consequence, he is forced to incur the expense of producing the documents that will either substantiate or disprove those damages."
Another email from the Maria star's legal team notes that "Pitt's persistent refusal to produce documents related to the reasons behind his need for a four-year NDA covering his personal misconduct," which would have been crucial for the case's progress.
The Fight Club actor's lawyers claim that, within six months of Jolie's winery deal, her attorneys presented a comprehensive, mutual non-disparagement clause to Pitt in relation to their divorce case. Pitt sued Jolie for selling her shares of the French winery without his knowledge, despite the former couple's supposed agreement that neither party would do so. However, the Girl, Interrupted actress has denied the existence of such an agreement and claimed that her ex-husband is "waging a relentless and vindictive war against her."
