Katie Bates is candidly sharing her truth amidst a tumultuous period in her life. Following the revelation by her husband, Travis Clark, that he had cheated on her, she addressed his infidelity with poignant words. "This is not how I envisioned beginning this year or this new season of our lives," Katie wrote on Instagram on January 19th, three days after she shared the devastating news of her pregnancy loss with their third baby. "This has been an incredibly painful time for me and for our family. As many now know, our marriage has been deeply hurt, and my trust has been shattered."
In the midst of this difficult chapter, she and Travis, 24, are focusing on their children, Hailey, 2, and Harvey, 15 months old. "After privately expressing deep regret and sorrow for his actions, Travis told me he felt it was important to publicly take accountability for what he has done," she explained. "And I support his decision and desire for transparency."

"We are working through this privately, seeking counsel both together and individually as we try to determine the best path forward for our family," she continued. "I am also being supported by legal counsel. This is not a quick or easy process, and it is not one I am taking lightly."
The 25-year-old - who starred in Bringing Up Bates alongside her 18 siblings from 2015 to 2021 - emphasized that she wants to work on her relationship with Travis. "Every decision about our future will be made slowly and carefully, with what is best for our family and our children as the highest priority," she wrote. "At the same time, I do believe in God's power to restore, and my heart's desire is to preserve our marriage."
Although Katie wanted to take a longer break from social media, she shared how it is an essential part of her career. "While I have delayed as much as I possibly can, there are prior commitments I am unable to cancel," she explained. "I realize that life has to go on even through hardships and difficult situations, and I appreciate your grace and understanding during this time."
As she concluded her message, she expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support. She concluded, "Thank you for your continued prayers, kindness, and compassion." Two days earlier, Travis publicly shared that he had been unfaithful to his wife of four years. "I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust," he wrote on Instagram Stories on January 16th. "There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone."
"I know that words don't begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I've brought into her life, but I am truly sorry," he continued. "I understand that an apology doesn't repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for."
