Bruce Springsteen has imparted his reflections on witnessing Jeremy Allen White embody him in the upcoming biographical film, "Deliver Me From Nowhere," helmed by director Scott Cooper. This cinematic endeavor revolves around a pivotal era in Springsteen's life when he crafted his poignant 1982 album, "Nebraska," a deeply intimate musical narrative that delves into some of his most traumatic experiences.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Springsteen revealed that there was an "unfamiliar essence" to observing the filming of the project, given its focus on "some of the most excruciating days of my life." He often excused himself from the set whenever a particularly "deeply personal" scene was about to be shot. "Indeed, I missed some scenes," he admitted. "I desired the actors to feel utterly unconstrained, and I didn't want to hinder their process."
Earlier this year, the first glimpse of "Deliver Me From Nowhere" premiered at CinemaCon, and the official trailer debuted on Wednesday, offering viewers an initial peek at Jeremy Allen White's portrayal of Springsteen. The trailer showcases White performing Springsteen's beloved 1975 hit, "Born to Run."
When quizzed about his experience of watching White play him, Springsteen quipped, "I'm certain it's far more daunting for the actor than it is for me." He further noted that White was "exceptionally patient" with him on set and that it was "sheer enjoyment" to behold the film coming to life.
Adapted from Warren Zanes' 2023 tome of the same name, "Deliver Me From Nowhere" is slated for a theatrical release on October 24. The film boasts an ensemble cast brimming with talent, including Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, Stephen Graham, and Odessa Young, promising a cinematic journey that is both poignant and powerful.
