The girl group 3Quency, triumphant winners of Netflix's hit series "Building the Band," have elegantly penned a historic record deal in collaboration with Records, in conjunction with Columbia Records, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter. The group's eagerly anticipated inaugural single, "Top Down," produced by the talented Tommy Brown, will mark the initial fruit of their newly inked agreement, scheduled for a grand unveiling next week.
Comprised of the dynamic trio—Brianna Mazzola, Nori Moore, and Wennely Quezada—3Quency took to social media on Wednesday morning with infectious excitement to announce the upcoming release of their debut track. In an exclusive statement to THR, the trio expressed their boundless enthusiasm, stating, "We are absolutely thrilled to be part of the RECORDS/Columbia Records family, particularly as we prepare to unveil our new music. The past year has been dedicated to this very moment, and we couldn't be more delighted to share our hard work with the world."
Reflecting on their signing, the girl group said in an official release, "From the very first moment, we felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and belonging from the team, as if we had found our second home. Our mission has always been to establish a girl group rooted in the unbreakable bond of sisterhood. Our unity defines 3Quency, and we eagerly anticipate everyone experiencing 'Top Down.' This is merely the dawn of our journey."
3Quency emerged victorious from Netflix's reality show spectacle, which was hosted by AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys and graced by a panel of esteemed celebrities including Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child, and the late Liam Payne of One Direction. The show's concept was daring and innovative: to assemble 50 musicians and mold them into six unseen groups.
Discussing the show's genesis, Cat Lawson, managing director of Remarkable Entertainment, previously revealed to THR, "When we examined the U.S. Billboard charts, it became apparent that bands were notably absent. While One Direction and Little Mix achieved massive success, there hadn't been a groundbreaking American band in a very long time."
3Quency is being masterfully guided by Johnny Wright, a legendary figure who played a pivotal role in launching the careers of Justin Timberlake, *NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears, in collaboration with Records founder Barry Weiss. Helen Bromfield co-manages the group alongside Wright.
Set for release on September 5th, "Top Down" is now available for pre-saving, promising to set the stage for an exhilarating musical adventure.
