Denzel Washington, a staple in numerous beloved cinematic masterpieces, has surprisingly confessed that the magic of movies has lost its allure for him personally. During a captivating video collaboration with GQ, flanked by acclaimed director Spike Lee of "Highest 2 Lowest" fame and co-star A$AP Rocky, Washington opened up about his film-watching habits, revealing a surprising disinterest.

"I don't watch movies, mate. Honestly, I really don't," he confessed with a touch of sincerity. "I don't frequent cinemas. I don't indulge in film marathons at home. I'm just... worn out by movies. Yes, that's it." Intrigued by this revelation, Lee inquisitively asked how many films Washington had starred in throughout his illustrious career. "Too many to count, really. I'd say around 50!" Washington responded, his tone laced with a hint of self-deprecation.

Washington's journey in Hollywood began with his debut in the 1981 film "Carbon Copy," and since then, he has graced over half a century of silver screens. His acting prowess has been recognized on the grandest stage, earning him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in "Glory" (1989) and Best Actor for his riveting performance in the 2001 crime thriller "Training Day."

In his most recent venture, "Highest 2 Lowest," Washington portrays a colossal music mogul entangled in a treacherous ransom plot, confronting a moral dilemma that tests the very essence of his existence. The film is currently screening in select theaters and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting September 5th.

Despite accolades pouring in for his diverse portfolio, Washington recently made headlines for his refreshing candor about acting motivations. During an appearance on the August 11th episode of "Jake's Takes," he emphatically stated, "I don't do it for the Oscars." He continued, "I couldn't care less about such accolades. I've been in this game for decades, and I've experienced both undeserved wins and snubs. Man hands out the awards; God grants the true rewards."

Reinforcing his detachment from Oscar glory, Washington added, "People often ask me where I keep my Oscars. Well, they're next to the other one. I'm not boasting; just being honest. On my final day, those golden statues won't make a jot of difference." Jake Hamilton, the interviewer, chimed in wisely, noting that God never inquiries about Oscar counts. Washington chuckled, responding, "He might just say, 'That's why I granted you an extra week.' As long as He says, 'Time to rise,' I'm good."
