Introducing her fiancé to the world, Sofia Franklyn, the former co-host of the popular podcast "Call Her Daddy," revealed on September 1st that she had gotten engaged to her enigmatic beau. Although his face was strategically obscured from view, heartwarming snapshots captured the magical moment when he popped the question, as they savored red wine on a balcony offering breathtaking vistas of the water. Accompanying the photos, Sofia penned, "The original man-eater has been snared."
In a video where she dipped fries into ketchup, Sofia, the host of "Sofia with an F," proudly displayed her engagement ring—a dazzling round-cut diamond nestled on a gold band. As for the timing of the proposal, she unveiled via a screenshot of a text conversation with a pal that he had slipped the ring onto her finger on August 26th, the same day Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement.
Despite the controversies that have dogged her over the years, Sofia feels incredibly fortunate. She alluded to this in a September 2nd post, writing, "I've found love, despite being portrayed as the villain."
In 2020, Sofia parted ways with the hit podcast she co-hosted with Alex Cooper after reportedly declining a 50/50 deal proposed by Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports. "Sofia didn't accept the deal, and when negotiations stagnated, and no further concessions were forthcoming from her side, we had to proceed without her," Alex explained in a May 2020 episode of the podcast, now under Spotify's wing. "That's the gist of it. Everyone realized she'd never be content. There were numerous points of discussion, but eventually, she stopped contributing, despite expressing her desire for the agreement. She never signed it."
While Alex attributed the split to negotiation disputes, Sofia cited feelings of betrayal. "All the plans and goals we'd been working towards over the past six months to a year suddenly changed, and [Cooper believed] we should stick with the company and do as [Portnoy] suggested," Sofia told Rolling Stone in an article published in July 2020. "I later found out [Cooper and Portnoy] had a relationship I knew nothing about and was excluded from."
Although Sofia's fiancé remains anonymous, her public relationship with ex-boyfriend Peter Nelson, an HBO sports executive, was incorrectly speculated to be the reason for her departure from the show. Three years later, she set the record straight, clarifying that his involvement was no more than that of a typical romantic partner. "I think the media really tried to spin it, saying he was overly involved," Sofia said on Jason Tartick’s "Trading Secrets" podcast in June 2023. "He was my boyfriend. Of course, you confide in your boyfriend about your work and everything happening in your life. But he wasn't that deeply entangled."
