The shoot will span an intense 22 days, according to insiders, promising a series of thrilling new action sequences that will raise the stakes even higher. Julius Onah remains at the helm, directing this exciting new chapter in the Captain America franchise.

"Brave New World" has been shrouded in mystery since wrapping up principal photography in the spring of 2023. The film, starring Anthony Mackie as the heroic Sam Wilson, who assumes the mantle of Captain America, narrowly escaped the direct impact of the writers and actors' strikes. While Marvel's other productions, such as "Thunderbolts," "Deadpool & Wolverine," and "Blade," were forced to shut down or delay production, "Brave New World" managed to complete its principal photography before the strikes hit.

However, the film's post-production process was hampered and delayed, causing Marvel to push back the release date from July 26, 2024, to February 14, 2025. This gave executives more time to focus on what they needed to achieve through the reshoots and to take into account feedback from test screenings. Matthew Orton, who previously worked on Marvel's "Moon Knight," was hired to craft new pages during the winter, adding fresh material to the already compelling narrative.

Despite rumors of multiple reshoots for the movie, this appears to be the only one currently scheduled. It doesn't seem to be as extensive as the reshoots faced by "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," which lasted six weeks, or the costly and extensive reshoots endured by "The Marvels." In fact, insiders suggest that "Brave New World" will cost significantly less than "The Marvels" overall.

The film is shaping up to be a political action thriller that, tonally, is reminiscent of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the 2014 hit starring Chris Evans that introduced Mackie to the MCU. At this year's CinemaCon, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige promised that the film would be "no aliens, no alien invasions, no time travel," teasing audiences with a glimpse of the footage. He described it as a "relatively grounded action film" that promises to deliver an exciting and relatable adventure.

Harrison Ford, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Danny Ramirez, and Rosa Salazar also star in this ensemble cast, bringing their unique talents to the big screen. With so much riding on the success of "Brave New World," Marvel Studios is pulling out all the stops to ensure that this political thriller delivers a memorable and impactful experience for fans.

The film centers on a Black hero stepping into the iconic costume of Captain America, a character that carries the symbol of the American flag. Some believe that, in terms of its potency and relevancy, "Brave New World" has the potential to have a similar impact as "Black Panther," the groundbreaking 2018 film that was the first major superhero feature led by a Black cast and earned a nomination for Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

"Brave New World" spins out of the events of Disney+'s 2021 series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," which starred Mackie and concluded with Sam Wilson assuming the mantle of Captain America. The series set the stage for this exciting new chapter in the Captain America franchise, and now, with the addition of Giancarlo Esposito and the rest of the talented cast, "Brave New World" is shaping up to be an action-packed thrill ride that will captivate audiences worldwide.
