Netflix announced on Sunday that the eagerly awaited ninth season of the captivating legal drama "Suits" will arrive on its platform on July 1. This marks a significant shift, as the thrilling finale of last year's viral hit was previously exclusive to Peacock.

The announcement coincided with a star-studded reunion panel presented by Tudum at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas. Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull, Abigail Spencer, and former USA Network president Jeff Wachtel gathered to celebrate the show's legacy.

"Suits," which originally graced the screens of USA Network from 2011 to 2019, followed the story of Mike Ross (Adams), a college dropout with a remarkable photographic memory who lands a job at a prestigious New York law firm under the guidance of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). The show's first eight seasons enjoyed immense popularity on Netflix last year, ultimately emerging as the most streamed series of the year by the end of 2023.

The renewed popularity of "Suits" prompted NBC to greenlight a spinoff pilot titled "Suits: L.A." earlier this year. Helmed by the original creator Aaron Korsh, the spinoff promises to delve into the world of a former New York prosecutor (portrayed by Stephen Amell) who now helms a Los Angeles-based law firm specializing in criminal and entertainment law.

"His firm is at a crisis point," reads the intriguing logline for the spinoff. "To survive, he must embrace a role he once held in contempt throughout his entire career."

While a release date for "Suits: L.A." is yet to be announced, the ATX TV Festival panel provided fans with a tantalizing glimpse into the future. When asked if the cast or creators would be interested in a reunion movie, Adams teased, "As a mere mortal with no authority, I can only speculate. But with the spinoff 'Suits: LA' in the making and Aaron [Korsh]'s apparent enthusiasm, it's clear that reuniting the band is something he's keen on exploring. Whether it happens depends on a million factors, but is it possible? I believe it is."
