As popular food influencers Nina Santiago, alias NinaUnrated, and Patrick Blackwood captured their culinary escapade at a Houston, Texas eatery, disaster struck unexpectedly. In a viral Instagram video posted on August 17th, the pair were seen indulging in slider sandwiches, their bites suspended in mid-air, when an SUV barreled through the restaurant window, crashing into their midst. The vehicle's unexpected intrusion disrupted their meal, overturning their table and scattering shards of glass across the room. Nina plummeted to the floor, narrowly escaping being crushed by Patrick, who managed to propel himself off the booth's bench just in time.
While the cause of the crash remains a mystery, Nina provided an update on her recovery, describing how the SUV had "collisioned with us head-on." "I am incredibly thankful to be alive after an SUV smashed through the glass wall of Cuvee Culinary Creations in Houston, TX, reducing everything to smithereens as Patrick Blackwood and I filmed an eating show," Nina penned in an August 18th Instagram post, accompanied by images of the deep cuts adorning her wrist and face. The TikTok sensation further added that the vehicle emerged "from out of the blue, yet we emerged unscathed."
She also reflected on how the crash had reshaped her perspective on life, penning, "This harrowing experience has illuminated who truly matters in my life; life is too fleeting for resentment or wrath. Let bygones be bygones, forgive, embrace the present, and cherish those around you, for this could have very well been our last supper."
Patrick, too, shared snapshots of his wounds, revealing bloody gashes across his cheek, ear, chest, and arm. "Grateful to see another dawn, having brushed aside trivia with a profound purpose!" he captioned his Instagram update, which also featured a staple-laden injury requiring seven staples.
