Cardi B has made a triumphant return with her scorching new single, "Outside." The Grammy-adorned rapper unveiled her first solo offering of 2025 on Friday, marking a much-anticipated solo comeback following last year's "Enough (Miami)." In the catchy chorus, she asserts, "(I’m goin’ out) On the pop out (Side) ‘Cause it’s hot out / (I’m goin’ out) You were playin’ games, (Side) Now you’re on time-out," her rhymes dripping with swagger and confidence.

To whet fans' appetites for the new track, Cardi tantalizingly teased on Instagram on Wednesday, proclaiming, "We OUTSIDE this Friday!!" Accompanying her announcement was the song's vibrant photo art, capturing the joyous remnants of a summer block party in New York City. The scene depicts an overflowing fire hydrant, red Solo cups scattered about, dominoes toppled, and blunt wrappers littering the ground, painting a vivid picture of festive chaos.

Prior to the official release, Cardi ignited the stage at the Spotify Beach at Cannes Lions in France on Wednesday, delivering a fiery performance of "Outside." In the song's opening verse, she spits fire, "When I tell you these n***as ain’t shit, please believe me / They gon’ fuck on anything, these n***as way too easy / Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, I’m convinced / Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a bitch," her lyrics sharp and unapologetic.

Cardi B is no newcomer to the realm of No. 1 hits, having topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart an impressive five times with smashes like "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)," "I Like It" featuring Bad Bunny & J Balvin, "WAP" featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and "Up." Though she hasn't released a full-length album since her debut, "Invasion of Privacy," in 2018, Cardi has hinted at her relentless work on her sophomore studio album. However, she admits that its release has been delayed as she patiently awaits the contributions of featured guests, promising that it will be worth the wait.
