A cinematic journey delving into the life and career of the esteemed British TV presenter, Caroline Flack, is currently in the pipeline at Disney+ and is slated for release later this year. Entitled "Caroline," the project's working title, this original feature-length documentary follows the poignant footsteps of Christine, Caroline's devoted mother, as she embarks on a heartfelt quest to unravel the mysteries surrounding the final chapters of her daughter's life.
The documentary promises to showcase intimate testimonies, gathered from Caroline's closest circle of family and friends, as Christine embarks on a poignant odyssey to uncover the truth behind the circumstances that led to the tragic end of her daughter's life on February 15, 2020, shortly after being accused of assaulting her then-boyfriend, Lewis Burton.
Flack was a prominent figure in the UK's television landscape, renowned for hosting some of the nation's most-watched shows, such as "Love Island" and "The X-Factor." Her meteoric rise to fame culminated in 2014 when she won the twelfth season of the beloved celebrity dance competition, "Strictly Come Dancing."
Produced by Curious Films, the production house behind the acclaimed 2021 documentary "Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death," this film is poised to premiere on Disney+ in 2025. Christine Flack, in an emotional revelation, expressed, "Despite knowing the journey ahead will be fraught with challenges, I am driven by an insistent need to find answers to the myriad questions lingering in my heart about Caroline's final months. I am delighted to once again collaborate with the talented team at Curious Films, in the hope of shedding light on Carrie's story, not only for her sake but for all those who cherished her."
The documentary will be executive produced by Dov Freedman, Charlie Russell, and Jessie Versluys for Curious Films, under the direction of Christian Collerton and produced by Sophie Clayton-Payne. Commissioned by Sean Doyle, Executive Director of Unscripted Content at Disney+, and executive produced by Gaby Aung, Senior Manager of Unscripted Content, the film holds a special place in the Disney+ slate.
