The eagerly anticipated pop-up event, celebrating the milestone fifth anniversary of Selena Gomez's album "Rare," has regrettably been postponed,amidst the devastating wildfires that have ravaged Los Angeles. On Thursday, the pop icon and actress shared an update on her Instagram Stories, expressing heartfelt sorrow: "We are deeply saddened to witness the ongoing toll these wildfires are taking on our beloved Los Angeles community. Prioritizing the safety and well-being of our team and fellow community members, we have reluctantly decided to reschedule 'Rare: The Pop-Up,' our collaboration with Complex. Further details and new event dates will be communicated shortly. Thank you for your understanding and patience." The festive occasion was originally slated for January 10-12.

Gomez also thoughtfully provided a series of links to evacuation shelters, animal support services, frontline responders, and mental health resources on her Stories. She penned another heartfelt message: "As a Los Angeles-based team, our hearts are heavy with concern for California, grappling with massive wildfires that have endangered communities, displaced families, and left homes in ruins."

Released in 2020, "Rare" debuted at the summit of the Billboard 200 album charts and boasted the chart-topping hit "Lose You to Love Me." Inspired by her album, Gomez's thriving cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty, bears its name. Numerous Hollywood events have fallen victim to the fiery onslaught, including the Academy Awards nominations, where Gomez might have garnered recognition for her role in "Emilia Pérez." The unveiling of nominations has been shifted from January 17 to January 19, with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences extending the voting period. Premieres of films such as "A Better Man," "Unstoppable," "The Last Showgirl," and "Wolf Man" have also suffered postponement or cancellation.

The flames have left their mark on the homes of numerous celebrities, including Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Anna Faris, Cary Elwes, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, and Ricki Lake. Tragedy has struck hard, claiming five lives and leaving over 1,000 structures in ruins.
