Carrie Underwood has finally unveiled her approach to tackling the "toxic" online criticism that has become a part of her life. The 43-year-old singer recently appeared on SiriusXM's "The Highway" and shared her thoughts on the evolution of the internet and its impact on online nastiness.

"It's evolved over time," she said. "During my time on 'American Idol,' we had message boards and things like that, which were the beginning of online nastiness, I guess." She continued, "I feel like they have to deal with so much more of that now. We're living in a world where we forget that we're watching human beings doing things, and it's so easy to talk about it."

The "Remind Me" singer added, "It's no longer like water cooler chats. I never would have known what people were talking about in school or whatever, but now you can just say it online." She emphasized, "That's something that everybody has to navigate. I promise you that someday you won't care, but right now, I know they do care."

In another part of the interview, the "Before He Cheats" hitmaker clarified that she has no "beef" with Nikki Glaser.
