CBS has embarked on assembling an intriguing ensemble for its eagerly anticipated "Yellowstone" spin-off, "Y: Marshals." Among the notable additions to the cast is Logan Marshall-Green, who will join Luke Grimes, reprising his role as Kayce Dutton from the original series. This thrilling new venture will trail Kayce's journey as he integrates into an "exclusive squadron of U.S. Marshals, blending his expertise as both a cowboy and a Navy SEAL to uphold justice across Montana. Amidst balancing familial obligations, professional duties, and the profound psychological toll that accompanies being the ultimate line of defense in the region's battle against violence," according to the show's captivating synopsis. Slated for a premiered in early 2026, "Y: Marshals" promises to be a heart-pounding ride.
Marshall-Green, recognized for his roles in "And Just Like That" and "Carry-On," will portray Pete Calvin, a comrade from Kayce's military days. CBS acquired the series in May, thereby broadening the "Yellowstone" universe to its broadcast platform (which has previously aired reruns of the flagship show). Taylor Sheridan, the genius behind the franchise, serves as an executive producer for "Marshals," while Spencer Hudnut ("SEAL Team") takes on the role of showrunner and pens the pilot episode. The executive producing team also comprises John Linson, Art Linson, Grimes, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Yaitanes (who will helm the premiere), Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox. The series hails from MTV Entertainment Studios, producers of "Yellowstone" (soon to be renamed Paramount TV Studios following the conclusion of the Paramount Skydance merger later this week), in collaboration with 101 Studios.
Marshall-Green's impressive resume further boasts credits in ABC's "Big Sky," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," and "Quarry." He is represented by CAA, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Goodman Genow.
