Tyler Henry's horizon is aglow with promise following his surgery to remove a brain tumor. The beloved alum of 'The Hollywood Medium' revealed in an exclusive interview with E! News' Francesca Amiker that just a month after doctors successfully excised a benign, fluid-filled cyst nestled near the core of his brain, he is "faring much better."
"I consider myself incredibly fortunate," Tyler beamed. "I was battling hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid accumulates around the brain, triggering inflammation." Joking about his tumor's "one in 3 million occurrence rate," the 29-year-old quipped, "I should take a shot at the lottery next!"
Indeed, Tyler has been "astounded" by his swift recuperation. Within mere weeks post-operation, he was already back to delivering readings as part of his "An Evening of Hope and Healing" live show series.
"I was apprehensive about any potential impact on my abilities, given it was brain-related," continued the clairvoyant, whose coast-to-coast tour stretches till December. "But I discovered that the absence of brain inflammation actually brought greater clarity."
Reflecting on his past, Tyler said he was "grappling with a myriad of perplexing symptoms, making physical orientation challenging."
"I'd occasionally feel sluggish in my responses and experienced aphasia," he recounted, "where words eluded me."
However, this wasn't Tyler's maiden voyage through psychological turbulence. Having confronted an arachnoid cyst—a harmless growth on the arachnoid membrane, a protective barrier encasing the brain and spinal cord—during his teenage years, Tyler was swift to sense something amiss once more.
"I was previously diagnosed with a mass at the back of my brain," he shared. "When I was 18, I underwent endoscopic brain surgery, and it took about a decade for it to resurface after it resealed. So, it wasn't entirely uncharted territory."
Fortunately, Tyler had his husband, Clint Goodwin, as his rock during this latest health scare.
"We tied the knot just prior to my brain surgery, just in case the worst happened," he disclosed. "We ventured to the Beverly Hills courthouse. As we inked our signatures, Clint glanced up and noticed 2:22 on the clock—his late grandfather's sign. It was an incredibly meaningful moment," Tyler added, his eyes sparkling with emotion.
