Charli XCX and Jenna Ortega might soon become the new stars haunting the next installment of the renowned horror franchise, "Final Destination," following the release of "Final Destination: Bloodlines." While on a recent exhilarating escapade to the enchanting island of Sicily, Charli XCX, the chart-dominating musician behind hits such as "Brat," took to her TikTok page to declare her eternal admiration for the iconic horror series and unveiled her heartfelt aspiration to secure a part in the forthcoming sequel of "Final Destination."
On Tuesday, May 26th, the 32-year-old musician weighed in on the casting prospects for a potential "Final Destination 7," casually tossing her own hat into the ring alongside some of today's most sought-after "It Girls." With a playful glint in her eye, she pondered, "I was thinking, shouldn't there be a sort of 'It Girl' twist to this franchise? Imagine a 'Final Destination' starring the cream of the crop."
The "Beg For You" crooner then suggested, "a scream queen like Jenna," a nod to "Wednesday" sensation Jenna Ortega, who has already made a splash in the horror genre with credits in "Scream X," "You," "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," and a grisly music video for Sabrina Carpenter.
Moreover, Charli, whose given name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, floated the fantasy of casting an "OG scream queen," with Sissy Spacek topping her dream list. Opening up about her fascination with the "Final Destination" saga, the "Break the Rules" chanteuse confessed, "The reason I adore these movies is their sheer essence – beautiful people meeting their untimely demises."
She relished how the franchise lacks a "moral backbone," elucidating, "It's as if to say, they're gorgeous, they're cursed, and thus, they deserve to perish." The latest addition to the series, "Final Destination: Bloodlines," hit theaters on May 16, 2025.
Although there's been no official announcement regarding "Final Destination 7," the filmmakers might just embrace Charli XCX's suggestion, potentially casting a pop icon and a trio of Gen Z scream queens to lead the next harrowing adventure.
