The Disney enchantment runs deep as Demi Lovato tied the knot with her fiancé, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, in a fairy-tale ceremony in California on Sunday. The bride mesmerized everyone by walking down the aisle in a breathtaking Vivienne Westwood off-the-shoulder gown, a masterful reinterpretation of the late British designer's timeless classic, with delicate adjustments tailored by stylist Jill Jacobs.
Inspired by the grace of ancient Greek statues and the elegance of 18th-century women, Westwood's team meticulously altered the gown's draping around the bust and waist. Speaking to Vogue about her dress choice, Lovato revealed, "When contemplating my dream dress, I kept returning to Vivienne's designs, particularly her ability to enhance a woman's curves with her silhouettes and her clever use of corsets."
Adding a touch of fairy-tale magic, Lovato adorned herself with a cathedral-length tulle veil, styled her hair in Old Hollywood waves, and opted for a natural makeup look for her special day. For the reception, she donned a "one-of-a-kind" strapless column dress, also by Westwood, adorned with cascading broken pearls, paying homage to the "golden age of cinema."
At 32, Lovato isn't the first Disney princess to embrace this iconic style. In fact, her former rival, Miley Cyrus, sported the very same gown for her surprise wedding to Liam Hemsworth in 2018. While Lovato opted for a richer silk satin fabric, Cyrus chose a slightly more relaxed silk crepe version for her intimate at-home ceremony.
Despite their past differences during their peak as teen queens, Lovato and Cyrus rekindled their friendship in 2020. Even fellow teen sensation Justin Bieber's 2019 wedding bore the Westwood touch, as his now-wife, Hailey, wore a minidress version of the same design at their rehearsal dinner in South Carolina.
Jutes, 34, popped the question to Lovato in December 2023, after a year of romantic bliss, with an enormous pear-shaped engagement ring. Prior to this, Lovato was engaged to Max Ehrich in 2020.
