Chase Stokes isn't going down without a fight. When Morgan Evans, the ex-husband of Kelsea Ballerini, who was the Outer Banks star's ex-girlfriend, detailed their divorce on Bobby Bones' The BobbyCast, Chase called dibs on slamming the interview. "This is about the most pathetic excuse of masculinity I've ever seen," the actor wrote in a now-deleted comment under Bobby's Instagram, causing the host to share a screenshot with the caption, "Get a f**king life."
As for what the "Over For You" singer, who was married to Kelsea from 2017 to 2022, shared about the divorce, well, he didn't see it coming for starters. "I was not expecting that conversation, no," Morgan explained on the March 3 episode. "Maybe that was me being naive, but I definitely wasn't. It took me by surprise. That whole time is such a blur. It almost feels like somebody else, just from where I'm sitting now. I just look back and I'm like, 'Oh, my God.'"

The 40-year-old revealed that their divorce proceedings were completed within four months of their split. "It was pretty surreal," he recalled. "It all happened super quick. From finding out that that was what Kelsea wanted to do, to getting a lawyer and having a prenup and having three or four calls with the lawyer and signing the documents in the Ryman parking lot in the rain, to going home."
After Kelsea, 32, sang about their breakup in her 2023 album Rolling Up The Welcome Mat, Morgan—who has been dating fellow country singer Laci Kaye since 2024—admitted that he felt her depiction was unfair. "In my case, it didn't feel like it necessarily had a lot to do with me," he said. "I think maybe I was presented, or made out to be, or became an archetype for any guy that had done any woman wrong during that period of time. Like, some of the stuff was just like, 'What? What are you even talking about?'"
And it was a difficult time for Morgan—who detailed the divorce in his new album Steel Town—to navigate since no one in his life had gone through this experience. "Personally, going through divorce was horrendous and I had no reference for it," he said. "My grandparents have been married for 70 years. My parents have been married for 45 years. My brother and sister are still together. None of my mates are divorced. So, I was learning about that in real time, the nitty-gritty of how all that goes down."
And while Chase, who's had an on-and-off romance with Kelsea since 2023—too issue with Morgan detailing the breakup—Bobby defended his right to spill. "He's not said anything about his life," Bobby said in a March 4 Instagram video. "Then he wrote a record about his life and part of that record, a small part of the record, is about a divorce that he went through."
"I thought it came off really well," the internet personality continued. "I thought he was very kind in his description, in his version of events. There are two stories, right? There's his story, her story and the real story. So, I think the interview came off good."
