Chase Sui Wonders recently shed light on a hilarious on-set moment that left her utterly mortified. During an interview with her co-star Sarah Pidgeon for i-D magazine, Chase, who stars in the upcoming film I Know What You Did Last Summer, recounted an instance where she inadvertently addressed Freddie Prinze Jr. as "daddy" while filming.
As Sarah Pidgeon narrated the anecdote, Chase clarified that it was indeed an innocent slip of the tongue. "I accidentally called him daddy," she confessed. According to Sarah, the embarrassing incident unfolded during the filming of some pick-up scenes in Los Angeles, with Freddie Prinze Jr. present. Chase had been reminiscing about his iconic film roles, particularly his stint in Scooby-Doo.
"You became Daphne... 'I can look at myself naked,'" Chase joked, mimicking Freddie's character. He reportedly responded with a hearty laugh, exclaiming, "That was pretty good!" However, the mood shifted when Chase started talking about her father being a massive fan of Freddie's movie Summer Catch. When prompted about the plot, Chase stumbled over her words, saying, "When, daddy in the movie... when dad..."
Chase recalled feeling incredibly embarrassed at the time. Fortunately, everyone around her burst into laughter, and Freddie took it all in stride, maintaining his composure. I Know What You Did Last Summer is slated to hit theaters on July 18th. Fans can get a sneak peek of the film's trailer online, eagerly anticipating the release.
