Haters will always find a way to hate, but Chrissy Teigen isn't having it. She took to her Instagram Stories over the weekend to lambaste the "miserable souls" who criticized the appearance of her cheek fillers in recent snapshots, firing back with a passionate video message.
"Cease your miseries," the 39-year-old model exclaimed. "What ever happened to simply thinking things and moving on? Do you remember a time when we just thought things and left it at that?"
Teigen then reminisced about the days before social media, when people would confine their unkind thoughts to the privacy of their own minds or whisper them amongst friends while flipping through magazines.
"You'd flip through a magazine and think, 'Oh, that person looks terrible. I would never get that haircut... those teeth are hideous,'" she recounted. "We all do it, but we used to confine our judgments to magazines, spit them out, and let them dissolve into the void."
"Just do that now," she urged. "What's wrong with you? Why do you take the time to type out your mean thoughts? Really, what's the point?"
The wife of John Legend then mocked specific comments she had received from online trolls.
"'Her cheeks look too filled,'" she said in a sarcastic tone. "'Why would she fill her cheeks like that? Why would she do her lips like that? Ugh, I would never do that. It's so gross.'"
Teigen then implored people to keep their mean thoughts to themselves.
"Keep those thoughts inside your big brain," she advised. "Your big brain is more than capable of holding all your thoughts, but you just can't help but spit them out. I know it makes you feel superior to think that you're the only one with eyes, but why would I fill my cheeks to the point where people would talk about them? I don't want to be an example of anything. I just want to blend in, you guys."
Later, Teigen admitted that her lengthy tirade was fueled by a sleep gummy she had ingested.
"To be honest, I had a sleep gummy and just felt compelled to say this because no matter what I post, some dork has to criticize the wallpaper on my wall, my face, my kid's shirt, or the inorganic yogurt," she captioned her Instagram post. "But I love you even though you're a bit off."
Over the years, Teigen has repeatedly clapped back at online haters. Last month, she defended taking a "coconut milk bath" with three of her kids after facing mom-shaming for the practice. And in June of last year, the former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model gave a sassy response to haters who were disgusted by her soaking in a tub full of "dirty" bath water.
