The 31-year-old pop icon began his heartfelt revelation by recalling childhood advice: "I was often told as a child to steer clear of hate," he penned. "Yet, this made me believe I wasn't permitted to harbor such feelings, leading me to conceal my inner turmoil from everyone." Bieber further elaborated that suppressing his hate made him feel as though he were "drowning," unable to safely acknowledge his true emotions.

"Acknowledging hate's presence is the first step towards letting it go," the father-of-one continued thoughtfully. "How can we not feel hate amidst the hurt we've endured?" he concluded his cryptic yet poignant post.

Just days prior, on March 13th, Bieber had utilized his Instagram Stories to open up about his self-doubt, sharing, "People have told me my entire life, 'Wow, Justin, you deserve that,' yet I've always felt unworthy." He admitted, "It felt like a fraud; when praised, I felt deceitful, thinking, 'If they only knew my inner turmoil.'" The star also confessed to feeling "unprepared and unqualified most days."

On March 8th, Bieber posted another cryptic message, hinting at having "nothing left to prove," possibly addressing fans' escalating concerns about his well-being. The two-time Grammy winner shared, "Today, we have nothing to prove; we merely have the precious gift of life to embrace and cherish. We owe nothing, and no one owes us anything." He accompanied his thoughts with Stevie Wonder's 1976 classic, "Sir Duke."

Since welcoming his son, Jack Blues, with wife Hailey Baldwin Bieber, 28, in August, Justin has sparked worry among his fans due to perceived changes in his physical appearance and behavior. Following fans' observations in February, rumors began to swirl.

However, a representative from the couple's team issued a statement via TMZ on February 23rd, dismissing the narratives surrounding Justin's health and alleged drug use as false. They deemed the rumors "exhausting and pathetic," adding, "Despite the obvious truth, people persist in nurturing negative, sensational, and harmful stories." A representative for Justin declined to provide further comment to PEOPLE at that time.
