Christina Haack is sharing the heartwarming moment when she unexpectedly reconciled with her second ex-husband, Ant Anstead, after a four-year estrangement. The 41-year-old HGTV star opened up about this significant encounter in a teaser for episode 4 of 'The Flip Off,' which will air on February 19th, via her Instagram account. In the clip, Christina elaborates on an unexpected gesture that took place shortly after her separation from her third husband, Josh Hall, in July 2024.

"Ant and I parted ways when Hudson was just a toddler, and now he's turning five," Christina reminisces, referring to her son with Anstead, whom she welcomed in September 2019. "During the years between his first and fifth birthdays, our communication was sparse."

Following their split in September 2020, the pair became entangled in a contentious custody battle over Hudson, which was finally resolved in December 2022.

"After Josh and I separated, I went to Ant's house to pick up Hudson for a birthday party," Christina回忆道. "When I approached the door, Ant greeted me with a heartfelt hug—something we hadn't shared in years."

This genuine display of affection marked a turning point in their relationship. "He said, 'I'm truly sorry for everything you're going through, and I'm here for you, no matter what.' It was a beautiful moment. We had an extended conversation afterward and decided to put aside our differences and become good co-parents for Hudson's sake, just like Tarek and I," Christina reveals.

Christina shares two children, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with her first husband, Tarek El Moussa.

Later in the scene, Christina dials Ant to inquire if he would be interested in serving as a guest judge on 'The Flip Off.' The new series follows Christina and her trusted team as they compete in a house flipping competition against Tarek and his wife, Heather El Moussa. Originally, Christina was set to partner with her now-estranged husband, Josh, but they split two months after the series was announced.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in January, Tarek and Heather admitted they were taken aback when they learned that Anstead would be appearing on the show. They were particularly surprised because they had no idea that Christina and Ant were even on speaking terms following their tense divorce.

"All of a sudden, they're best friends," Tarek recalled his reaction to seeing Ant and Christina interact on set. Heather added that it "really threw us off" because they believed that Christina and Ant "weren't talking."

Heather described how witnessing Christina and Ant's newly mended relationship "unfold in front of our eyes" was a whirlwind experience. "Christina started following Ant on Instagram, and we were like, 'What? What's going on?' It was really like that for us," she said. "We saw it all unfold on TV and were so thrown off by the situation. I think we even texted her, 'Why are you following Ant? What's going on?'"

Christina chimed in, referring to Tarek, "I feel like some of the judges I picked were just to mess with him. And it worked."

Fans first suspected that Anstead might join the show when Christina joked about him replacing Josh on the series after his abrupt exit. Christina and Anstead were then spotted filming together in November 2024, and a source told PEOPLE at the time, "Ant is going to appear on the show, but he won't be Christina's partner."

Both Christina and Ant are currently in relationships. Christina is dating businessman Christopher Larocca, while Anstead is in a nearly four-year relationship with Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger.

'The Flip Off' airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
