The son of the renowned actor Cillian Murphy, Aran Murphy, is about to unleash some major news in the entertainment industry. The 17-year-old son of the Oppenheimer star and his wife Yvonne McGuinness is set to shine on the screen in the upcoming HBO and Sky series War alongside Dominic West and Sienna Miller, as announced on October 22 via his talent agency's Instagram post.

The legal thriller promises a high-stakes drama as a powerful tech titan (played by Dominic) and an international superstar (Sienna) navigate a messy divorce while two rival law firms compete for victory in the courtroom and beyond, according to TV Insider. This will be Aran's debut on television, though he has already made his mark in the 2022 Irish film Lola and completed filming on Taika Waititi's movie adaptation of Klara and the Sun, which stars Amy Adams, Jenna Ortega, and Steve Buscemi, per IMDb.
While Cillian, who also shares son Malachy, 19, with Yvonne, usually keeps his family life under wraps, he couldn't help but express his pride in Aran's acting endeavors. "I'm very, very proud of him," he told Today FM in March 2024. "He's a great, great actor, so I'm very proud of him." However, despite his excitement for his son's career, Cillian isn't offering any unsolicited advice. "He doesn't need my advice," the 49-year-old continued. "He's more than capable."
Meanwhile, during his acceptance speech at the Palm Springs International Film Awards in January 2024 for his performance in Oppenheimer, Cillian took the opportunity to express his immense gratitude towards his family. "Because I don't really get to do this too often, I want to say thanks to my family," he said at the event. "Two-thirds of them are sitting down there. We had to leave one of them at home doing exams. But just thanks for putting up with me—putting up with the half me and the shadow me and the absent me, the remains of me when I'm doing a film like this or work in general." He added, "You're always there. I love it. So thanks, guys."
