Cody Simpson Details Romances With Exes Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Miley Cyrus

When Cody Simpson was a teenager, girls were always on his mind. As the "All Day" singer skyrocketed to fame after moving from Australia to Los Angeles at the age of 14, he found himself entangled in relationships with Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Miley Cyrus. Over a decade later, he shared insights into his high-profile romances.

Indeed, Cody revealed that his first relationship was with Kylie Cosmetics founder Kylie Jenner in 2011 after they met at the Twilight: Eclipse premiere. "I think I asked her for her number there and we started talking," he explained on the March 10 episode of the We Need to Talk podcast. "It was young. I took her to the movies or something and we dated for about a year."

For the now 29-year-old, who split from swimmer Emma McKeon last month after nearly four years together, it was comforting to connect with someone else in the spotlight at such a young age. "I think we just bonded through being in these unique situations," he reflected. "So it was nice. I think it's just nice to relate to somebody at that age in that world."

"I didn't have a school with girls," he explained. "My school was like Hollywood in a way. I was homeschooled, so the only way I could meet people was literally at the Twilight premiere or at one of my shows. So there were very few places in which I could socially be a kid, be a young dude trying to date, trying to kiss girls."

Following his split from Kylie, who has been dating Timothée Chalamet since 2023, Cody strutted into a relationship with Gigi in 2013. "She was my first love, absolutely," he revealed. "We were together on and off for about two years."

After getting her phone number from a mutual friend, the "La Da Dee" singer concocted a plan to meet the model under the guise of a fake music video. "This is gonna sound so stupid, but I cold-called her," he recalled. "I said, 'Hey, it's Cody, I'm a musician. I'm doing this music video. I was calling to ask if you want to be in it.' There was no music video. No plans for a video. The videos have all been shot."

"I'm pretty sure I pitched her this whole concept that didn't exist and she goes, 'Yeah, OK.' And I think that just broke the ice," he continued. "So I started texting her and I'm like, 'Ah, I don't think the video is going to happen anymore, but like, do you want to catch up? Do you want to go out for food or whatever?'"

The pair began hanging out and a few weeks later, Gigi—who, after dating Zayn Malik, is now dating Bradley Cooper—joined him on his Paradise tour. "The universe brings people together when they're supposed to be together," he explained. "We were supposed to be together when we were and learnt stuff from each other."

Four years later, it was Miley who captured his heart. In fact, he shared that he quarantined with the "Flowers" singer—whom he met when he was 18—during the Covid pandemic in 2020. "We used to go and party together and hang out," he said. "We connected and bonded through rebelling from being in that teen pop stardom thing."

Although he and Miley—now engaged to Maxx Morando—lost touch when he became "downright hippie for a couple of years," they reconnected years later (the pair dated from 2019 to 2020). "Again, it's one of those things; we were very much meant to be together at that time," he added. "We were both sober and in a very different place from when we were friends back in the day. We were kind of exploring what the hell we'd just been through. I'll always be grateful for that."
