Dakota Johnson is dazzling with fifty shades of sheer elegance. The "Materialists" star made a stunning entrance in a show-stopping rendition of the "naked dress" at the Kering Foundation's Caring for Women dinner in New York City on September 11. For this high-profile outing, Dakota opted for a floor-length, sheer black Gucci gown adorned with intricate lace detailing that offered only the slightest hint of coverage for her skin beneath. To maintain her modesty—well, in key areas at least—she paired the dress with a matching bra and underwear set.
When it came to accessories, the 35-year-old actress let her head-turning outfit take center stage. She styled her hair in a timeless updo, accentuated her look with a dazzling tennis necklace, and complemented it with coordinating silver earrings.
Of course, Dakota wasn't the only star to capture attention at the Kering Foundation event. Lauren Sánchez Bezos made her first red carpet appearance since marrying Jeff Bezos in June, drawing plenty of glances. Additionally, Colman Domingo, Winnie Harlow, Demi Moore, and Adrien Brody all graced the cameras in their own haute couture ensembles.
While this might be Dakota's most daring fashion statement yet, it's hardly her first foray into sheer looks lately. Just last month, the "Fifty Shades of Grey" alum turned heads in a black, see-through, long-sleeved midi dress during a New York City outing.
For Dakota, experimenting with her wardrobe is a no-brainer—it's her hair that she's more reluctant to change. "I'm like, obviously physically attached to my hair, but I'm very emotionally attached to it, too," Dakota shared in an August 20 interview with Etalk. "I should probably switch things up, but I don't think I will."
Another aspect of her life she's not looking to alter anytime soon? Her career trajectory in romance films. As Dakota—who is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's romance novel "Verity"—put it, "I'm just so interested in love and love stories."
She added, "It's such an integral part of our human development and our journey."
