Dancing With the Stars' Jenna Johnson Speaks Out Amid "Disturbing" Car Crash Reports

Published: Jan 20 2026

Jenna Johnson is firmly setting the record straight. The 'Dancing With the Stars' professional dancer took to social media to slam the "disgusting" fake reports that she and her husband, Val Chmerkovskiy, were involved in a car accident that left them allegedly gravely injured.

"It has been brought to my attention by hundreds of you that there is an article circulating that I was involved in an accident with other horrifying information," Jenna wrote on her Instagram Story on January 18th. "This is absolutely FAKE NEWS. It is SO disturbing that AI is being used to spread misinformation like this. Real lives should not be joked around with."

She closed her statement with a plea. "Please stop using my pictures to spread false news articles for click bait," she wrote. "Whoever started this should be ashamed."

After all, Jenna and Val—who share a 2-year-old son named Rome—have not been in an accident but instead have been busy in recent weeks preparing for the 'DWTS' live tour, which kicks off on January 22nd.

In fact, Jenna shared a glimpse of the grueling, yet fun, preparation process in a recent social media dump. Among the images and videos shared to Instagram on January 18th was a selfie with 'DWTS' troop member Hailey Bills, a clip of a rehearsal with fellow pro Brandon Armstrong, a video of Jenna and Val dancing down a studio hallway, and snaps of Jenna showing off a 101-degree temperature reading on a thermometer—prompting her to announce, "I'm going to bed."

And within the carousel was a snap of Jenna and Val celebrating Rome's second birthday on January 10th, which involved a construction-themed cake. In other pics, Jenna held her son close in front of a gorgeous sunset and walked by his side as he held his own umbrella in the rain.

She captioned the post, "A cutie little dump from the past couple of weeks."

The 'Dancing With the Stars' tour features the show's many professional dancers, plus the troop, as well as a rotation of the season's celebrities, including Alix Earle, Dylan Efron, Andy Richter, Elaine Hendrix, Jordan Chiles, and winner Robert Irwin.
