In an interview on Good Morning America, Radcliffe shared that he had sent a personal letter to McLaughlin, expressing his sympathies for the new generation of young talents embarking on a similar journey. "I don't want to be a specter in the life of these children, but I just wanted to write to him to say, 'I hope you have the best time, and an even better time than I did — I had a great time, but I hope you have an even better time,'" Radcliffe said.

The Tony-winning actor concluded with a sentiment that was both poignant and sweet. "I just see these pictures of him and the other kids, and I just want to hug them. They just seem so young. I do look at them and say, 'Oh, it's crazy I was doing that at that age.' But it's also incredibly sweet, and I hope they're having a great time."

The highly anticipated Harry Potter series is expected to be released in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max, with McLaughlin starring as Harry alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, among many others. As Radcliffe's successor, McLaughlin will no doubt carry on the legacy of one of the most beloved characters in cinematic history.
