Dancing With the Stars: Zac Efron Makes First Appearance to Support Brother Dylan Efron

Zac Efron is diving headfirst into the ballroom scene, with his presence at Dancing With the Stars' Nov. 18 episode marking his first time in the ballroom to support his brother, Dylan Efron, during the show's semifinals. As Dylan and his partner, Daniella Karagach, executed a tango to Prince's "I Would Die 4 U," the camera cut to Zac, cheering on his sibling alongside their 5-year-old sister, Olivia, and their family. The judges awarded them a score of 27 out of 30, and Zac was captured cheering again as they performed their second dance to "Kiss," earning 28 out of 30 points.

Earlier this season, Dylan addressed fans' curiosity about Zac's absence during season 34. "Hey, he's doing his thing," he told Extra after the Oct. 21 episode, adding that Zac had been "supporting me every day" in private. But even though the Baywatch actor wasn't physically in the ballroom, he still made his mark on the competition. During the Oct. 14 episode, Dylan performed to Zac and Zendaya's Greatest Showman song "Rewrite the Stars" and got emotional about including his family in the competition.

"Now, being able to dance to 'Rewrite the Stars,' this is a nod to my brother," Dylan said during the Oct. 14 episode. "Zac's always taken care of me and he did things that were so selfless. I wanna be that to [our sister] Olivia, I wanna be the best role model I can."

While his family's support has carried Dylan into the penultimate week of Dancing With the Stars, it also served him well ahead of winning season three of The Traitors last year. In fact, Zac emphasized that he was "rooting for" his brother, noting that "if anyone can do this, it's him." He added, "I think Dylan's going to win. I hope he does, because he's so good at games. He always has been since we were kids. He's like the game master." He continued, "I don't care what game it is. It can be a luck game like Yahtzee and he always gets Yahtzee on the first roll."
