Hey Jessie, Debby Ryan's entire world is undergoing a remarkable transformation. The former Disney Channel sensation took to social media on September 7 to announce her pregnancy with husband Josh Dun, sharing captivating photos that showcased her burgeoning baby bump. In one snapshot, the expectant mother-to-be dazzled in a white butterfly top, while the Twenty One Pilots rocker, Josh, proudly held up a pair of baby Vans sneakers. Another intimate moment captured the couple tenderly cradling Debby's expanding belly.
In a joint Instagram post, Debby and Josh captioned the heartfelt reveal with "dun&dun +one," encapsulating their joy and anticipation. The duo also shared a sonogram of their forthcoming bundle of joy, alongside a bespoke cartoon of themselves, masterfully crafted by the visual artist duo DabsMyla.
Debby, 32, and Josh, 37, embarked on their romantic journey in 2013. According to the Jessie alum, her future husband went above and beyond to impress her on their very first date, even learning "how to tie a bowtie" for the occasion. "You were only 24 here," Debby reminisced in a 2018 Instagram tribute to the musician, accompanying a throwback photo of the couple enjoying a candlelit dinner. "Before I dyed your hair and you taught me love."
For Josh, it was Debby's carefree and fun-loving spirit that captured his heart. "I always tried to envision what marriage would look like from when I was a kid, and it never really looked quite like this," he confided to Kenny Sipes in a 2022 interview. "When I was young, I felt like my parents were just so grown up. Debby and I are just kids."
The drummer elaborated, "We live in an adult house and decorate it like kids and do kid stuff in it. We couldn’t sleep the other night, so we just hung out in the kitchen, jumped around, and ate snacks. I bet my parents did that stuff too, probably, but I never saw it and never knew this is what marriage could be like."
Yet, this playful dynamic doesn't imply that Debby and Josh are unprepared for the next big chapter in their relationship. After all, as Debby aptly put it, they've "evolved and grown so much" since their initial encounter. "It's cool and special to have that support system," she shared with The Sydney Morning Herald in 2018, "and we are each other's biggest fans."
