Lady Gaga is weaving a beautiful romantic tale with Michael Polansky. After the "Abracadabra" songstress outshone the likes of Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Morgan Wallen, and the Weeknd to claim the coveted Artist of the Year title at the 2025 MTV Music Video Awards, she took to the stage at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 7 to share a heartfelt message with her fiancé.
"To my partner in all things, Michael," Gaga declared, her voice tinged with emotion. "Crafting this year with you has been a breathtakingly beautiful dream. You've been my steadfast companion at every turn. I dedicate this to you as well, my love." (For a full list of winners at the VMAs thus far, click here.)
Even as Gaga had to rush back to Madison Square Garden for her electrifying performance of "The Mayhem Ball," she made it a point to shine a spotlight on her devoted fans, known affectionately as the Little Monsters, as she accepted the prestigious award. She expressed that words "fail to capture" the profound significance this accolade held for her.
"The way you navigate through life is nothing short of iconic and rare," she continued, her gaze sweeping across the crowd. "It's entirely your own masterpiece. I dedicate this award to the audience. You truly deserve a stage to shine upon, and I offer you all my applause. Thank you, Little Monsters, my fans, for always standing by me and nurturing the monster within me." Despite already having 19 VMAs under her belt, Gaga delved into the emotions she felt upon winning Artist of the Year, especially in such a fiercely competitive category.
"I pondered over what it truly means to be rewarded for being an artist, for something that is inherently rewarding," she mused. "Being an artist is an endeavor to bridge the souls of people across the globe. It's a discipline, a craft designed to reach into someone's heart, where it takes root and reminds them to dream."
Indeed, the "Poker Face" songstress elaborated on how her profession feels like a "sacred duty to make the audience smile, dance, cry, and let go at every twist and turn."
"It's a means of fostering understanding and celebrating community," she added. "I hope that as you navigate through the daily mayhem of life, you are reminded of the significance of your existence, that you can rely on yourself and your simple talents to keep you whole."
