There are indeed strange happenings beyond David Harbour's recent press tour, where he stood out like a lone star in the universe of 'Stranger Things.' Newly unveiled details shed light on why the Thunderbolts actor didn't join his co-stars, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink, during their promotional blitz for the final season of Netflix's hit series. It turns out that David was never officially confirmed for the interview circuit, thus he didn't exactly pull out of any appearances; rather, a source close to the matter told E! News. Instead, the 50-year-old actor is currently deep in the production of Courteney Cox's new film, Evil Genius, as reported by Deadline.

Despite his hectic schedule last month, David has been cleared and is eagerly anticipated to attend the 'Stranger Things' season five premiere in Los Angeles on November 6, as shared by an insider. E! News reached out to Netflix for a comment on David's absence from the press tour but received no response. They also tried to reach out to David's representative for a statement but haven't heard back yet.
While David has been out of the public eye, he made headlines last month when his estranged wife Lily Allen released her new album West End Girl, which hints at infidelity on David's part as one of the reasons behind their four-year marriage's demise. In one track titled "Ruminating," she sings about her inability to "shake the image" of her husband's mistress naked. In another called "Sleepwalking," she suggests that her partner lets her believe her cheating paranoia is all in her head and has "nothing to do with them girls in your bed."
Although David has yet to publicly address Lily's new album, he has shared his mindset heading into the conclusion of the show that catapulted him to international fame. "There's all kinds of stuff: there's sadness, there's fear, but in general it also gives you an opportunity to have more time and space to do your own thing," he told Esquire Spain in an interview published on November 1. "I'm excited about what I've learned over the years on 'Stranger Things.'" The Emmy nominee added, "As brilliant and wonderful as 'Stranger Things' is—I do think it will stand the test of time, but I also think it will be a product of its time."
As for how David feels about his not-so-young-anymore co-stars, he thinks they're "pretty good kids" with long careers ahead of them. "I'm always here to help them out," he continued, "but they're on their own path. It's a wild path, but they all seem to be doing great."
