Diddy Aims for Mistrial Once More: Legal Battle Heats Up Over Alleged False Testimony
Sean "Diddy" Combs has once again thrown his hat into the ring for a mistrial, this time amidst claims that his ex-lover, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, provided misleading testimony during the opening week of his ongoing federal sex trafficking trial, according to TMZ.
The crux of Diddy's motion hinges on a bombshell accusation hurled by Cassie's confidant, Bryana "Bana" Bongolan. Last week, Bongolan took the stand to recount an alleged 2016 altercation where she claimed Diddy stormed into Cassie's Los Angeles apartment, seized her from behind on the balcony, and swung her perilously over the rail, eventually hurling her onto nearby patio furniture.
Testifying in New York on June 4th, Bongolan vividly painted a picture of the confrontation, revealing she was a guest at Cassie's place when the dramatic events unfolded. She said Diddy roared, "You know what the f*** you did," as he manhandled her.
However, Diddy's legal eagles are crying foul, asserting that Cassie's testimony earlier in May was flawed. They argue that a text message she purportedly sent around the time of the incident read, "I just found out some crazy s***," suggesting she hadn't witnessed the balcony drama firsthand.
Moreover, Diddy's team contends that the photos of Bongolan, which were submitted as evidence, were snapped when he wasn't even in Los Angeles, casting further doubt on her account.
The judge is still mulling over the mistrial motion, which follows a similar, albeit denied, request made two weeks prior stemming from testimony involving musician Kid Cudi.
It's worth noting that Bongolan had previously filed a lawsuit against Diddy over the same allegations, which he vehemently denied. He has steadfastly pleaded not guilty to a slew of federal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The legal saga continues, with Diddy's fate hanging in the balance as the court weighs the validity of these explosive claims.
