Diddy makes shocking demand for new trial despite major acquittals

Sean "Diddy" Combs remains relentless in his pursuit of complete exoneration from all federal allegations levied against him. Earlier in July, the 55-year-old music tycoon emerged victorious, acquitted of the two most grave accusations out of five, following a grueling two-month legal battle. Yet, it seems his acquittal on sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges has emboldened him to press onward for further justice. He is prepared to venture into another trial to secure his full vindication.

On Wednesday, July 30, Diddy's legal eagles filed a motion, as reported by Us Weekly, seeking either an acquittal on the two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution — crimes he was convicted of — or, failing that, a new trial. His attorneys argue that these charges encroach upon the Mann Act, which prohibits the interstate or international transportation of individuals for prostitution purposes. They assert that the pioneer of Bad Boy Records neither arranged travel for the escorts purportedly involved in his so-called "freak offs" nor engaged in intimate relations with them.

During the proceedings, Diddy's ex-lover Cassie, 38, testified that a "freak off" entailed "hiring an escort" and that he would "actively direct our actions." A pivotal witness, identified as "Jane Doe," corroborated these allegations, revealing that he had filmed these encounters. "To our knowledge, Mr. Combs stands as the sole individual ever convicted under this statute for conduct of this nature," the motion further contended.

Convicted on July 2, Diddy faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for October 3. His legal team has also submitted a bail request, proposing a $50 million bond to secure his release pending sentencing.
