Gregory Zecca is grappling with the overwhelming aftermath of a harrowing ordeal. Tragically, on July 19, in an accidental shooting incident at their Florida apartment in Naples, Zecca took the life of his 13-year-old son, Anthony. Devastated by the heart-wrenching loss, Zecca, the stepson of Duane "Dog" Chapman, has been placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold, as revealed by a family representative to TMZ on July 21. This involuntary detention spans 72 hours, necessitated by his severe mental health crisis, posing a potential danger to himself or others, or due to his severe impairment.

Clarifying further, the representative emphasized that Zecca's detention stems solely from his profound grief over the tragedy, rather than any perceived guilt over the accidental shooting. Zecca, who is the son of Francie Frane, Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife, from her previous marriage, is struggling immensely with the aftermath.

Meanwhile, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office announced on July 21, via a statement to E! News, that they are conducting a comprehensive "death investigation" into the isolated incident. "Our detectives are meticulously examining all facets of this heartbreaking occurrence," the statement read, detailing the investigation's scope, which encompasses witness statements, forensic analysis, subpoenas, and search warrants.

As of yet, Zecca has refrained from publicly addressing the accident. However, his mother and stepfather have voiced their grief. In a statement to TMZ on July 19, representatives for Chapman and Frane expressed, "Our family is reeling from this unimaginable and tragic accident. We implore everyone to keep us in their prayers as we mourn the loss of our cherished grandson, Anthony."
