There's reason to rejoice in the Murphy-Lawrence family circle. Eight months after Eddie Murphy's son, Eric Murphy, and Martin Lawrence's daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, exchanged vows in a secret ceremony, the couple has announced that their family is about to expand. In a heartwarming photo, Jasmin, 30, proudly displayed her baby bump in an off-the-shoulder white dress as she gazed down at Eric, 36, who was resting his head on her growing belly while looking into the camera.
Expressing their profound gratitude for this new chapter in their relationship, the newlyweds captioned their joint Feb. 2 Instagram post, "Thank you, Jesus, for the greatest gift."
Martin couldn't help but express his excitement at becoming a grandfather. "What a blessing to start the day!" he wrote on Instagram. "My heart overflows with love and gratitude after the announcement of my first grandchild!" He continued, "Watching [Jasmin] and [Eric] embark on this parenthood journey means everything to me. Family is everything—and this moment is nothing less than a divine blessing from God. Welcome to the next generation!"
Meanwhile, Eddie—already a proud granddad of two and a dad of 10—had previously shared his mindset when it came to Eric and Jasmin becoming parents. "I'm never pushing them," Eddie told E! News in July. "It's a beautiful blessing and whenever it happens, it happens."
Indeed, Eddie and Martin are on the same page when it comes to their children. The Bad Boys actor told Jennifer Hudson that they are "both protective" over Eric and Jasmin. "We want the best for our children," the dad of three said during a May appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. "We let them do their own thing and make their choices and stay out of their business and let them find their way."
