The music maven famously honored Pompeo by naming one of her feline companions after her iconic "Grey's Anatomy" alter ego, Meredith Grey. Further cementing their friendship, Pompeo starred alongside an ensemble of A-listers in Swift's thrilling "Bad Blood" music video. Sharing an endearing anecdote, Pompeo revealed how Swift once generously penned her a substantial donation for charity in response to a casual request.
"During that period, my husband Chris Ivery and I were deeply involved in volunteering at Children's Hospital Los Angeles," Pompeo recounted. "They have an extraordinary initiative where they craft personalized music for newborns in the NICU. Parents, who might be at work throughout the day, record their voices singing lullabies or narrating stories. These recordings are then played for the babies, providing comfort and fostering positive developmental outcomes in their absence."
"It's a beautiful program, but it requires funding to keep running," Pompeo emphasized. "On a whim, I asked Taylor, 'Could you possibly write a big check for Children's Hospital?' Despite knowing me for barely twenty minutes, she didn't hesitate; she wrote me the most generous check without a second thought."
Pompeo charmingly shared with Hudson that her time on the set of Swift's "Bad Blood" video amounted to merely "an hour or two," where she had the pleasure of filming a scene with "Law & Order: SVU" star Mariska Hargitay. Intriguingly, Swift also owned a cat named after Hargitay's renowned character, Olivia Benson. Pompeo described the music video shoot as "a breeze."
