Elon Musk's former partner, the musician Grimes, has recently provided an insight into her health status concerning her child, X. On Saturday, March 22nd, Grimes, who shares three children with the Tesla CEO – X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Tau Techno Mechanicus – posted a heartfelt and detailed message on the social media platform.
"This year, I was diagnosed with ADHD and autism, and it dawned on me that I might also be dyslexic, explaining my constant struggle with spelling without the aid of spellcheck," Grimes penned. "If only we had known this when I was a child, perhaps I wouldn't have pushed myself so relentlessly. I might have turned to drugs, and many of my peculiar obsessions and motivations would have been viewed as symptoms of illness. Instead of struggling through, I might have dismissed certain challenges as unsurmountable. Though, had I been medicated, that's another scenario entirely," she added thoughtfully.
At 37, Grimes drew from her own experiences to illustrate what she terms "extreme infohazards." She highlighted the proliferation of social media accounts claiming expertise in mental health matters, which disseminate information to the masses. Grimes cautioned that some of this information can lead individuals to self-diagnose, often inaccurately.
"I find the landscape of this uninformed mental health subculture on social media truly alarming. While some accounts offer valuable insights, many seem anti-civilizational, designed to exacerbate rather than alleviate people's struggles," she expressed with concern.
