A clip posted on John's Instagram page captured the magical moment, showcasing him belting out the lyrics while seated at the piano, with Roan by his side, enchanting the crowd with her vibrant dancing and harmonious vocals. Donning a dazzling pink cowboy hat, John further delighted the star-studded West Hollywood gathering by performing Roan's beloved tune, "Pink Pony Club," alongside her.

Captioning the social media post, John exclaimed, "Sharing this moment together at #EJAFOscars was pure magic. For one unforgettable night, we transformed West Hollywood Park into our very own Pink Pony Club—a realm brimming with love and camaraderie, where everyone felt empowered to embrace their true selves without apology."

In anticipation of Sunday's performance, John reminisced about Roan's appearance on his "Rocket Hour" show in September 2023, expressing his delight in witnessing her ascending success. "From the very instant we heard @chappellroan, we knew she was destined for stardom," he captioned an Instagram post, adding, "Not only does she possess an extraordinary talent, but she also fearlessly champions her beliefs through her voice and platform."

"We eagerly awaited her presence at @ejaf’s Oscar Party this Sunday, as we gathered to raise crucial funds for our mission and demonstrated to the world that love will invariably triumph. #EJAFOscars," John continued in his caption.

Roan graced John's show once again in late May 2024, during which he revealed the profound inspiration she had been to him. "I called you the other night and said, 'Listen, I'm not stalking you, but I'm just as thrilled about your album's success as you are,'" John exclaimed. "It's heartening to witness genuine talent being recognized and celebrated."

The duo celebrated with a pizza party the subsequent month, with John captioning an Instagram photo, "The BEST evening filled with mouth-watering pizza and uncontainable laughter spent with the fantastically fierce @chappellroan." He added, "Love her, love her, love her," in the June 24, 2024, caption.

In December of the previous year, the "I'm Still Standing" icon was honored with Time's Icon of the Year title, with Roan sharing the invaluable advice he had bestowed upon her. "The advice he imparted was that the songs would inevitably come," Roan recounted. "He doubted he'd have the ideas, but they were always there; he just needed to let them flow naturally. That's a beautiful reminder," she added.

Elsewhere in the interview, the "Red Wine Supernova" musician lauded the "Your Song" artist for his "impeccably and masterfully penned compositions." "That's what resonates with millions, even billions of people," she emphasized about his tracks.
