Emma Stone, the actress known for her role in The Amazing Spider-Man, revealed in an exclusive interview with People magazine how her Oscar-nominated film Poor Things inspired her to keep her buzzed look from Bugonia a closely guarded secret. Working alongside director Yorgos Lanthimos for the fourth time, Stone portrays Michelle Fuller, a high-profile pharmaceutical CEO, in the film.

Lanthimos revealed that despite her initial reluctance to wear beanies for three months to maintain the surprise element, Stone disguised her appearance to perfection. "One of the great things that happened with Poor Things was that no one had seen pictures of Bella's look, that really long black hair," he said. "When the trailer dropped and we heard the fan reaction, it was like, 'Whoa.' It's nice when it's revealed later."

During the filming of Bugonia, there were "no pictures or candids from set" that only encouraged Stone to think, "Why not keep this up for a little bit?" She was so committed to keeping the transformation a secret that she never even made her bald look official on the red carpet.

At the premiere of A Real Pain at the 62nd New York Film Festival last October, Stone opted to wear a wig, and earlier this year, she debuted her grown-out pixie cut at the Golden Globes awards. Stone's film, Bugonia, is slated for release on October 31, and it's clear that her dedication to her craft is as strong as ever.
